Hello, and welcome to La Prairie Yurt Cabins. We’re so glad you’re here. Our hope is that this peaceful corner of the woods offers you a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature.

In 2022, we purchased a 10‑acre property on Jess Harry Road, instantly drawn in by the quiet beauty of the trees and the feeling that this was a special place. What began as a plan to build a retirement home soon turned into something more. Our first yurt was originally meant to be a guest space, but we quickly fell in love with our circular home and its window to the sky. Before long, yurt living became our everyday life.

Living this way has brought us closer to nature than we ever imagined. We love the gentle sound of rain on the roof, watching clouds drift across the dome during the day, and gazing at the moon and stars at night. These simple moments are what make yurt living feel so special to us.

Two years later, we built our second yurt, The Robin’s Nest, with the intention of sharing this experience with others. We thoughtfully designed it as a quiet, comfortable retreat for couples looking to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy the calm of the natural world. We’re grateful to share this place with you and hope your stay feels restful, welcoming, and unhurried.
